Interaction Design for Novel Multimedia Applications   (1998- )
[current position] Interaction design (starting with conceptual design all the way to detailed widget-level design) and subsequent usability studies for novel demonstrators and deployed systems at Centre for Digital Video Processing since 1999. See some examples of my designs. My experience in interaction design include:
  • Web-based multimedia applications
    • Communal Online VCR with recording and keyframe-based content browsing features (1999-2005)
    • Daily news story archive for searching, browsing, playing, recommendation of news videos (2002-7)
    • Video searching/browsing system based on simple semantic features (indoor/outdoor, speech, monologue, music, landscape/cityscape, text overlay) and ASR text (2001- )
    • Video searching/browsing system using relevance feedback based on keyframes and semantic features (2001- )
    • A series of object-based searching/browsing systems that allow the user to interact with automatically detected objects within video content (2003-6)
    • Photo-visualisation for LifeLogging data - leveraging automatic determination of novelty and events captured by SenseCam wearable camera (2004- )
