In the past I have worked almost exclusively on using HPSG for Machine Translation. Here are some related links:
Verbmobil, an on-going project in Germany to develop a speech-to-speech translation system which uses HPSG
BABEL , another system which uses HPSG
More recent research includes looking at the possibility of using WordNet and GermaNet for Word Sense Disambiguation (Lexicalishe Semantische Disambiguierung) in Machine Translation from English to German.
Other related sites include EuroWordNet (Luxembourg) and EuroWordNet (Holland)
Have a look at my alma mater Trinity College Dublin where I studied Computer Science, Linguistics and German (CSLG)
or at the University of Bielefeld where I spent my third year on ERASMUS, studying principally at the Fakultaet fuer Linguistik und Literaturwissenschaft and the Technische Fakultaet .
Alternatively take a look at Bielefeld itself, a city in NordRhein-Westfalen, about 180km from Duesseldorf. Its Irish Pub won European Pub of the Year a few years back. Bielefeld was the place where I've had some of the best times of my life to date!
I'm a bit of a football fan, my favourite team being
Aston Villa even though we're not very good at the moment!
My favourite TV programmes are (predictably maybe) Friends and ER

For the past two years I've played Softball with the Broadcom Mashers - we're not all that good but we're getting there! We even got into the playoffs for promotion last season!
Other than that I spend most of my time in various pubs, cinemas or restaurants around Dublin
