Senior Postdoctoral Researcher, Oct. 2002 – December 2007
Centre for Digital Video Processing, Dublin City University
I have recently completed a five year postdoc in the CDVP, DCU as a senior postdoctoral researcher. I was involved in many research projects, though was primarily focussed on managing information from digital photo and digital video libraries. For further information, see my research page. Adjunct Faculty, Oct. 2007 - ...
University of Tromsų, Norway
I maintain my ongoing collaboration with the University of Tromsų, by means of a 20% position at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science. I am actively involved in student supervision and lecturing, with ongoing collaborative research into multimedia retrieval and systems architectures.

Lecturer, Oct. 2001 - Sept. 2002
Dublin City University
I lectured for one year in the School of Computing, DCU. I lectured Organisational Information Systems (OIS) and Multimedia Information Systems (MIS) to undergraduates and Databases to MSc students. Details of my evaluation of lecturer performance for OIS, MIS and Databases are provided. Assistant to Lecturing Staff, Oct. 1998 - Oct. 2001 I supervised lab sessions, gave tutorials and covered for unavailable lecturers for the university’s undergraduate Computer Applications degree and M.Sc. in Computer Science degree programs.

Research Assistant, June. 2000 – Sept. 2000
AT&T Research, Florham Park, NJ, USA
I spent a summer internship as part of a small IR research group. My duties were to research, develop and test a linkage analysis algorithm and to implement an automatic relevance feedback process for AT&T's TREC-2000 web track submission.

Managing Director, Dublin, June 1997 – Oct. 1999
Oberon Digital Media
I ran a small software company I set up with a classmate during our degree studies. After graduating, I worked full-time with Oberon Digital Media for one year, before returning to Dublin City University (DCU) to peruse my Ph.D.. My responsibilities included day-to-day company management, staff and client interaction, formal specification authoring & software development.
