Here are some points from his article 'An Embedded Infobahn' in the December '94 issue of the Embedded Systems Programming Magazine.
"Embedded tecnology is so ubiquitous in our society, it is utterly incomprehensible that so little information is available on the subject. Perhaps our products have too low a profile. No one thinks about hte computer in an automatic transmission or miocrowave oven, despite the fact that these little CPUs are so common, it's nearly impossible to view a room without finding at least one thing embedded technology has made possible or more effective. Our products are everywhere, but our visibility is non-existant."
"Let's develop a database of embedded information-first as individuals and later as a group. We must all work at saving the mass of information that unforunately has far too transient a life.""Think ahead a decade: If you want to program an 8259, you'll be able to do a search on a database, culling articles, code and data-sheets in seconds. Need an FFT algorithm? Dozens, perhaps, will be available online.
If others have code to contribute, then I can add links to it.
