The Irish Centre for Cloud Computing and Commerce (IC4) is a new Technology Centre funded by Enterprise Ireland and the IDA to develop new architectures, service models, security and business techniques that assist companies migrating and establishing their business on the Cloud in a secure and compliant manner. Dublin City University, University College Cork and Athlone Institute of Technology have been awarded the initial research phase of this Centre which has the potential of further funding if successful.
Project Background
In collaboration with Enterprise Ireland, an Irish state body supporting research commercialization, the project will address the research and development needs of Irish companies in the Cloud Computing sector.
Duties of the Post
Based in Dublin City University the need for two Postdoctoral Researchers now exists. They will be in charge of the development of interoperability and migration solutions for cloud architectures. The aim of the architecture theme of this project is to research and develop infrastructure solutions to enhance interoperability among hybrid and multi cloud environments and to develop migration techniques in the form of migration patterns and a repository-based support infrastructure.
Qualifications and Experience
- The postdoctoral researcher candidate should have a PhD in computer science or a related domain
- Strong expertise in large-scale distributed systems, Cloud computing or service-oriented computation
- Excellent programming skills
- Good communication and team work skills
Salary scale: €37,063
