Free tuition award for the best applicant for European MSc in Business Informatics

Dublin City University - School of Computing offers a Free tuition award for the best applicant for the European MSc in Business Informatics (Full-Time; application must be completed before 31st of March 2007). The studentship will cover the annual fee for the course.

The best applicant for the European MSc in Business Informatics shows strong potential and ability to excel in the European MSc in Business Informatics. Evidence of candidates' potential and ability will be sought in all aspects of each candidate's experience and achievements as provided in the PAC application form and eventually by telephone interviews. Supporting material may be requested as part of the evaluation process.

The best applicant will be assessed by an evaluation panel. With short listed candidates telephone interviews will be conducted by members of the evaluation panel.

Areas to be addressed in the course of the evaluation include:

  • Notable ability and potential demonstrated
  • Motivation and commitment demonstrated
  • Suitability in terms of experience, skills and qualities for participating in the European MSc in Business Informatics.
  • Academic excellence in terms of study record, duration of previous studies and scholarships and awards.
  • Professional achievements and record
  • Relevant inter-cultural and European experiences (e.g. stay abroad)
  • Competences in foreign languages
  • Relevant extracurricular interactions and experiences (e.g. project management; chairing committees; organizing conferences and meetings; elected positions held)
  • Communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities (e.g. awards for oral presentations or papers; team leader)
  • Research potential

The best applicant will be selected and recommended for award on the basis of the application and possible interview by the evaluation panel. There is no legal recourse possible against the decision. The award will be confirmed after completing any checks necessary to verify information relevant for selection (e.g. educational background) and the fulfilment of requirements for the European MSc in Business Informatics. Supporting documentation may be requested as part of the verification process.
