The All-Ireland Schools Programming competition was held in the School of Computing, DCU on Saturday, 12th May. This is the premier second-level computer programming competition which pitches the best young programmers from around the country in order to select the Irish team for the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI2012).
The competition consisted of two rounds with the first round done at home or at school, and the final round held in the School of Computing, DCU. The problems are graded with the first round entry being relatively easy, to more difficult programming challenges on competition day. Students completed these challenges over a four hour period with the first four students to finish all problem qualifying for the prizes.
