Funding for DCU research proposals

Enterprise Ireland has released the results of the first call for proposals under the Research Innovation Fund 2001. The National Research Support Fund Board met on the  21st of June  to consider the applications and approved a total of 25 projects from 12 institutions for funding. 

Two of DCU's nine proposals have been approved for funding. In addition a joint proposal submitted by TCD with DCU as collaborator has been approved.

Prof. Alan Smeaton, School of Computing for his CEOLAIRE
proposal - A search engine and recommender system for MP3 encoded music files. 

Prof. Dermot Diamond, NCSR, for his proposal on the Development and Application of an Autonomous Device for Environmental Monitoring
