Software Engineering Degrees accredited by IEI

The accreditation of the BSc in Computer Applications at Dublin City University was approved by IEI Executive at its meeting this week.

This means that graduates of the degree can now join the IEI as Ordinary Members and use the designatory letters MIEI, while those graduates who have four or more years of professional experience as Software Engineers are eligible to apply for the Registered Professional Title of Chartered Engineer.
 
This degree now has international recognition as a professional engineering degree through Washington Accord and holders of the CEng title who have seven years experience will be acceptable for professional practice in the US, UK , Canada, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Australia , New Zealand, Hong Kong-China and South Africa.
