Significant Research Boost for the School of Computing
Science Foundation Ireland have just
announced research funding for a
team of researchers from DCU and UCD to the tune of 5.6M. The research
programme will focus on adaptive information systems and the DCU role
involves the Centre for Digital Video Processing, a collaboration
between Prof. Alan Smeaton from the School of Computing and colleagues
from the School of Electronic Engineering. This is a significant boost
to the research profile of the School, the research centre, and the
University, and brings the total amount of research funding secured by
the CDVP this year, to over 2M (including the CDVP share of this SFI
award, an ATRP2003 award for the MediAssist project, and involvement in
EU FP6 project aceMedia).
