  • 15th European Software Process Improvement Conference (EuroSPI 2008)

    DCU is hosting the 15th European Software Process Improvement Conference (EuroSPI 2008) from 3rd to 5th of September 2008. The EuroSPI conferences present and discuss results from software process improvement (SPI) projects in industry and research, focusing on the benefits gained and the criteria for success. Leading European universities, research canters, and industry are contributing to and participating in this event.

    The 2008 conference will be jointly chaired by Dr. Rory O'Connor (DCU) and Dr Nathan Baddoo (University of Hertfordshire) and contains 4 keynote addresses, 6 research sessions, 10 industry experience sessions, 7 tutorials and a doctoral symposium, with a total of 60 presentations from 19 countries.

  • Recession? What Recession?

    There is no better time to be getting into IT as job markets continue to grow in Ireland and globally.

    The Expert Group on Future Skills Needs released their latest report on the ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) Sector under the press release title: Strong Future and Opportunities for ICT Sector in Ireland

    The ICT sector will continue to provide job and growth opportunities for the Irish economy and workforce according to the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs (EGFSN), which launched its latest report on 23 June 2008, Future Requirement for High-Level ICT Skills in the ICT Sector.

  • Nora Brophy wins President's Award for Teaching Excellence
    (3rd June '08)

    President's 
		Award for Teaching Winners Innovation and excellence in teaching and learning at DCU were celebrated at the annual Teaching and Learning Day on May 27th. The School of Computing were extremely well represented at this event with Nora Brophy picking up the President's Award for Teaching Excellence in the academic category.

    The proceedings included a ceremony to recognise the individuals who were nominated for 'The President's Awards for Teaching Excellence'. Five staff were nominated in the Teaching Support category including Bipin Kumar and 11 academic staff were nominated in the Academic category including Ray Walshe.
