Irish Science Olympiad (ISO) is a competition for post-primary
school students in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Programming (Informatics)
and Physics.

web server log file statistics: (4th January '00)
Now online are the log file staistics for October, November '99,
and up to 14th December '99. This gives a statistical summary
of the overall usage of the CA web server.

B.Sc. in Computer Applications Degree : ( 23rd November)
Information on the new structure of the B.Sc. in Computer Applications
Degree is now available in HTML
format.

Applications main pages have been approved by BOBBY : ( 23rd
November)
The main pages of the School of Computing have been
approved by BOBBY. All manual priority checks have been addressed.-
Bobby is a web-based tool that analyses web pages for their accessibility
to people with disabilities.

Enterprise Awards 1999 : ( 15th November)
An inter faculty team comprising 2 CA4 students and a BS3 student
won first prize in the Enterprise Ireland Student Enterprise Awards,
1999 on Friday 12th.

The School of Computing Annual Report 98/99 is now
online.

- Donal
Fitzpatrick wins Chancellor's Medal - Postgraduate Award for 1999
: ( 1st November)
The Chancellor's Medal is the University's principal award for
merit. It is presented to the most outstanding student, at both
undergraduate and postgraduate level, for both academic achievement
and contribution to the extracurricular and social life of the
University. Also, 11/02/2000, Dr. Donal Fitzpatrick has been awarded
Fulbright Scholarships for the coming year.

Module Specifications for the Degree Programs : ( 22nd October)
Now online are the full module specifications for the following
degree programs - B.Sc. in Computer Applications, B.Sc. in Computer
Applications (PT), Graduate Diploma in Information Technology
and Grad Dip/M.Sc. in Computer Applications (Evening). Both the
other programs B.Sc. in Applied Computational Linguistics and
M.Sc. in Computer Applications for Education (Evening) will also
be available shortly.

- DCU
School of Computing increases student numbers:
(17th September '99)
DCU's School of Computing has increased the intake
onto its B.Sc. in Computer Applications to 300 students for October
1999 and the intake on the Graduate Diploma in Information technology
to 125 students.

A page detailing the computing equipment in the school is now
available, including a feedback form to report broken equipment.
